Excellent question!
The short answer,
it is pressure washing, just at a much, much lower psi (pounds per square inch). Similar to what you would get out of a garden hose in Glastonbury CT. You might be thinking, "Well I have a garden hose so why don't I just go clean it myself?" The reason is because you will have achieved the soft part of "Soft Washing", but not the washing part that you are truly after. If just the soft part mattered, a good rain storm would handle your property cleaning and there would not be a pressure washing industry in Connecticut. The washing aspect is where the magic happens. Based on a variety of factors, such as type of surface, severity of contamination/stain, type of contamination/stain, etc., a blend of specific detergents are applied for maximum results. The water is then used to rinse
the dirt and detergents from the surface, leaving you with the clean surface you want. The detergent actually does the heavy lifting in the removal process, attacking only the substance needing to be removed and not the overall surface, like typical power washing does.
Soft Washing at it's core was designed to address the cleaning of those surfaces such as your roof, and siding, where using the typical power washing approach would result in damage and premature aging.
